May 2014 Book Selection

May's books, discussion, and activities are for all grades.

To participate in this month's discusssion and activities, please join the Wiki.Then, post on the Discussion Board , post under the "Introduce Yourslelf" thread by 3:00 PM Friday, May 9.

The May book selection is the participants' choice of...

one of the 2013 Best Fiction for Young Adults
OR
one of the 2013 Notable Children's Books for Older Readers
OR
one of the 2013 Notable Childrens's Books for Middle Readers
OR
3 of the 2013 Notable Children's Books for Younger Readers.

Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book(s).

Participants are expected to:

• Read the assigned book(s) for the month.
• Respond to the discussion questions.
• Respond to other participants' answers in separate posts.
• Create a lesson(s) using the book(s).
• Meet together for 1 hour to further discuss the books and shar lesson plans.

Discussions need to be posted and lessons emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, May 18.
We will meet to discuss the books on Monday, May 19 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Timken Library.
Please enter the Timken Commons from the 4th St. parking lot at Door 2.
The Library is on the second floor, up the big, blue staircase.
